As a vision of the Women’s Alliance, the Girls’ Leadership Project is designed to: promote leadership among young women and girls; promote leadership development among Latina, immigrant; at risk and other marginalized groups; introduce girls to other women’s/girls’ organizations; and encourage self-love, self-acceptance, self-awareness and positive self image.

Beginning with the Ten Week Exploration Series, a series of workshops facilitated by a group mentors from the Women’s Alliance and Community, the girls develop the skills they need to become leaders in the community.  Through the combination of recreational and community activities with guest speakers and discussions the girls will explore issues surrounding: body image, media literacy, community organizing, health, identity, communication, and relationship building.  These workshops are a celebration of being female and emphasize that girls have agency and can make a difference.
